Homelessness Prevention Program

CFA strives to help individuals and families maintain the stability that a roof over their heads gives. CFA provides landlords with rents and security deposits in order to prevent evictions and permit people to move into more affordable and/or more decent housing.  CFA also makes payments on behalf of clients to utilitiy and heating oil companies.

In 2014 CFA helped 1,508 households with basic needs:

  • 388 households with rent
  • 360 households with security deposits
  • 756 households with utility and heating bills
  • 4 households with miscellaneous needs
