Yesterday, Gov. Murphy signed legislation that will make breakfast available to 150,000 more kids!

Since breakfast after the bell significantly increases student participation, this bill has the potential to provide essential morning nutrition to an additional 150,000 low-income students and bring $42 million more in federal dollars to our schools to feed hungry kids.

What a great win for New Jersey school children!

This legislation was a top priority for the New Jersey Anti-Hunger Coalition and we thank our many partners who joined us in supporting and advocating for this measure, especially Advocates for Children of New Jersey and our many education partners.

We’d also like to thank the Tusk Montgomery Philanthropies for its generous support of this critical initiative.

And, of course, we extend our sincere appreciation to the state Legislature and the Governor for making childhood hunger a top priority. We invite you to join us in sending a “thank you” message.
