-Work rules dropped from farm bill

Great news! Congressional leaders reportedly said harsh work requirements will not be included in the farm  bill.

This proposal would have denied food assistance to thousands of New Jersey residents. With your help, we have been fighting this proposal for months. We thank all who sent messages to our Congressional representatives, shared on social media and otherwise added their voice to the mix in speaking out against this punitive plan.

We all want people to find good jobs. But taking food away from those struggling is no path to employment. It looks likely that the Senate version of the farm bill, which protects and strengthens SNAP, will be approved before the end of the year.
