On Monday, January 17, 2022, our country will pause to celebrate the 93rd birthday of civil rights leader Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King’s message advocates for economic justice, education, housing, empowerment of the poor, and working-class people of all colors. Dr. King states, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’”
In honor of Dr. King’s Day of Service, Mrs. Theodora Smiley Lacey will serve as CFA’s Event Chair. She is a lifelong civil rights advocate who places great emphasis on children and educational equity. Theodora worked under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
CFA’s hope was to host our traditional volunteer in-person snack pack events, but we have pivoted due to the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic. The attached response form details various donation and sponsorship opportunities.
