Center for Food Action Launches Choice Pantry in Mahwah

Center for Food Action Launches Choice Pantry in Mahwah

On Friday, April 12th Center for Food Action’s New Choice Pantry in Mahwah, NJ opened! This pantry is designed to provide a dignified and inclusive experience, allowing guests to select food items based on their individual and cultural preferences.

What is our choice pantry and why did we launch it in Mahwah? CFA Mahwah is our largest facility with flexible space to accommodate this scaled-down grocery store model. Our Mahwah families utilize the pantry more than six times per year. Choice Pantry for All is about more than just sustenance; it’s about offering dignity to those facing hunger.

Attendees at the ribbon cutting included students from Ramapo Ridge Middle School’s gifted and talented art program who painted our beautiful mural, Mayor Jim Wysocki of Mahwah, and Tracy Zur, Bergen County Commissioner. Together, we’re making a real difference in the fight against hunger.

A huge thank you to our large donors and sponsors, including Wegmans Food Market, June Stahl, The Daffron Family, Bergen County Office of Food Insecurity, The Clark Family, Walt & Donna Seaman, Oritani Charitable Foundation, and all our donors who made this possible.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating this milestone. Your dedication and generosity are truly appreciated. Let’s continue working together to ensure no one goes hungry in our community.
