On Monday mornings, Cari went to school feeling a little hungry because full meals were limited when she didn't have access to the Federal School Meals Program. CFA is now sending a weekend snack pack home with Cari on Friday afternoons.
Anne is 94. She receives Social Security and has a small pension. She fell behind on her rent and was facing eviction. CFA paid her 1st month's rent so she could move into senior housing. CFA's case manager also helped with her Meal on Wheels application.
Richard, 52, has custody of his 14 yr old son. Richard had been in and out of the hospital due to an illness so bills were beginning to pile up. CFA paid two months worth of utility bills to prevent a shut-off and helped with emergency food.
Joan, a single mom with 2 children ages 7 & 10, lost her job and her unemployment checks did not cover the expenses. Joan eventually found work, but we were there to help her put food on the table during the job search and transition.
Tyron is a single dad raising his 6-year-old daughter. He is working but doesn't make enough to pay the bills. He shares custody with the child's mom so she always has a roof over her head. CFA helps with food support and paid one utility bill.
Jill & Philip have two children. Philip is working, but his hours were cut and they are struggling to make ends meet. They never needed help prior to this year and are trying to navigate the complicated social service system while still looking for work.
