Join Center for Food Action at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Snack Pack Event
On Monday, January 16, 2023, our country will pause to celebrate the 93rd birthday of civil rights leader Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King’s messages advocated for economic justice, education, housing, empowerment of the poor, and working-class people of all colors. Dr. King stated, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’”
CFA is pleased to announce that our 2023 volunteer MLK Day of Service Weekend Snack Pack will be an in-person event on Monday, January 16th at 12 noon at Community Baptist Church of Englewood.
Our 2023 Event Chairperson is Mrs. Theodora Lacey, who is no stranger to civil rights. She worked under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., during the Montgomery Bus Boycott from 1955- 1956. I invite you to join our MLK Day of Service as we support children at risk of hunger in our community.
Please join us! Our children are worth it!
